ifilm English TV to air new movie ‘Joke’

ifilm’s new feature film ‘Joke’ has been scheduled to go on air on March 10, 2018.

The movie, which is written and directed by Homayoun Asadian, depicts a situation that leads a false man from zero to hero.

Reza is a two-bit con artist and drug smuggler. He is battling in the courts with his deceased wife’s family over the custody of his son. But his life changes overnight when he is returning back to Tehran with illegal drugs and a passenger plane crashes in front of him.

He goes into the plane thinking it is a good opportunity to pick some pockets, but he ends up saving all of the passenger’s lives by dragging them out of the wreckage.

The next morning everyone wants to know who the anonymous hero is, but since he is stuck in jail, he cannot come forward to take credit for what he has done.

Thus his friend Ebrahim, using Reza’s description of what he had done, introduces himself as the hero and instantly becomes a media darling. When Reza gets out of jail, he starts harassing Ebrahim.

The relationship between Reza and Ebrahim causes the reporter who was a passenger on the plane and originally broke the story to start doubting the hero.

The movie cast list includes Parviz Parastoui, Fatemeh Taheri, Habib Rezaee, Bahar Nouhian, and Mojtaba Yassini.

‘Joke’, made in 1999, is scheduled to go on air at 22:00 GMT.

ifilm English will also repeat the movie the next day at 04:00, 10:00 and 16:00 (all GMT times).
